Category posts appearing in category pages

Hi all,

I’ve asked a number of people for advice on resolving this, yet I seem unable to explain what I’m tryig to achieve, so I’ve created some simple wireframe models in Powerpoint and uploaded to Google Docs – see below.

I’m tying to get the latest posts appear on the home page below a static area and the latest posts categories automatically appearing in the relevant category section (NB: This strategy will mean that an individual post will for a time appear in a category page and on the front page).
