Category RSS feed proving difficult to get!
-
Hi, everyone!
I will try to be clear, quick and brief so that you may read this post to its end.
Would appreciate any help from anyone.Have a site, some occasional mp3 enclosures in some posts, and a feedburner account to pick up the RSS WP feed and hand it to iTunes. It is working fine.
However, I want to create a category only related to audio (it is its name, actually, “Audio”) and get the RSS from that category, give it to Feedburner, so Feedburner gives it to iTunes, and so on and so forth. From what I realised, I need to have Permalinks enabled in order to append a /feed at the end of the relevant category and have its RSS feed.
I updated the permanlink strutucte with the %category% tag.
Now the URL’s are neat and clean, and some stuff doesn’t work.
The <!–more–> tag on the posts has stopped working.
Don’t know if most of you are familiar with this, but if you have a large text post, you can break it anywhere with the <!–more–> tag, and the post will contain a <read the rest…> kind of link at the place you put the tag.
With the permalinks enabled, everything seems to work fine, except this. I click on the <read the rest…> link, and it doesn’t go anywhere. Occasionally it goes to a different page.I may leave you the URL of my site, although I realise your grasp on the portuguese language is probably not that hot… Anyway, https://www.dizquedisse.com
SO, WHAT I REALLY WANTED TO KNOW, is if I really need Permalinks to get RSS feeds off individual categories?
Of is there another way to “point” to a category RSS feed directly and forget about the Permalinks altogether? Thanks in advance for your help, guys.
Appreciated.Andre’ Toscano
