Category selector not working

I noticed a previous topic on this but it has been closed. So not sure if the issue is resolved or not but I’m using the latest version on Divi 4.11.4 ad WP 5.8.1 and I’m finding the categories are not always displayed – sometimes they are and sometimes not. It appears to be almost random. I find if I change the post type multiple times, they finally appear but then can disappear at any time without warning.
