  • Hey there, @aonefun! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

is there a way to have the category image thumbnail pulled from a product from that category

By default, the category thumbnail needs to be set on the category settings section of the dashboard. You can access it by going to Products > Categories > Clicking on the category you want to edit.

But you might be able to achieve this with custom code or a third-party plugin.

While we can’t provide support for code customization as per our support policy, we do our best to offer advice and direct you to appropriate resources.

You can visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there too.

This can vary depending on your theme, but most themes will give you the option to padronize the product image size.

You can check this by going to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product images.

There you will be able to choose if you want all product thumbnails to be square (1:1), a custom size or to have them show on their original dimensions. Don’t forget to save the changes once you are done.

If this is not possible on your theme, you will need a third-party plugin.

You can search for “woocommerce product image“, or something similar, on the Plugins > Add New section of your dashboard or on a search engine like Google, for example.

Please note that we also do not provide support for third-party plugins, so it is good to check the plugin thoroughly to see if it is reliable. You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

    Have a wonderful day!
