    Your hosting may disable certain functions, permissions or run an incompatible PHP version.
    In example latest version for MicroPayments uses code compatible with PHP8 but not compatible with PHP5 and older versions are compatible with PHP5 but not with PHP8. Most plugins and versions should work in latest PHP7.

    Except for budget web hosts, most providers allow changing PHP version as needed. These plans are tested with the plugins for default configuration and you can also switch to own configurations for PHP7/8.
