Caused severe performance issues on my website

My website is hosted by WordPress.
When I first installed this plugin, I loved it. I even purchased the “Pro” version.
However, about 6 weeks after installing it I ran a routine health check on my website and the report indicated some severe performance issues which I was unable to troubleshoot.
I opened a case with WordPress support and after investigating they advised that the cause of my website performance issues was this plugin. Disabling it fixed the problem. However, I wanted to continue using it of course.
WordPress support gave me a case number and suggested I contact the plugin developer and give them the WordPress case number so that they can work together to resolve the issue.
I did this in September 2023 and the initial response from the developer was good, promising to investigate.
I did not hear from the developer again for about 6 months and when, after prompting, I eventually did hear back, they sent me this message :
“Regrettably, addressing your issue would necessitate reprogramming our plugin entirely, which is beyond our current capabilities. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.”
In summary, WordPress support identified an issue with the plugin, the developer acknowledges the issue (after 6 months) but says they won’t fix it.
I have a very basic website using the popular Enfold theme. Nothing at all out of the ordinary.
So, be warned! Use this plugin if you need to but I would suggest you run perfomance tests on your site after installing.
