Causes Noto Serif to be Added to Page Download

  • I activated this plugin and added a container. I then discovered that Noto Serif font in 400 and 700 weights, roman and italic, is getting added to my page downloads. That doesn’t help my Pagespeed scores.

    When I deactivate the plugin I no longer get Noto Serif.

    I’d rather use this plugin because all I need is a container block and not an entire set of new block types, but the added overhead of Noto Serif bugs me.

    Any ideas?

    Follow-up: After looking at the code I’m guessing that making your front end css dependent on wp-editor causes the problem. I edited init.php to remove the dependency in the front end and the problem disappeared.

    interesting.. i can’t replicate the issue. what exactly did you remove at init.php?
