I am receiving a “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.”

I have narrowed it down to this plugin. When activated, I am unable to make simple edits to my site without having to wait 2mins to update as it will give me the above error and either time out or display a successful update screen.

It’s impossible to work edits when I’m consistently waiting 2mins for every update made.

I have to turn the plugin off, which is not what I want to do.

Anyone else experiencing this and has found a fix?

  • I’ve been running into the same issue over the past few months and couldn’t figure out what was causing this either! I had been monitoring the inbound and outbound traffic from the site to see if I had some sort of shady plugin that was sending and receiving traffic in the background but couldn’t find anything. I turned the plugin off as well and seems to be working fine now. I hope YITH has a fix soon because I do love their plugins but cannot let my site continue to lock-up and crash due to this!

    Hi guys,

It’s really a strange issue, and it’s difficult to us to work around it, as never appeared on our installations; maybe you can give us more details?

Do you have some js error in console, when editing a post? WP makes ajax requests to auto-save post, every once in a while; can you please monitor ajax request from the console, reporting us if some of this request respond with errors, or wrong status code?

    Thanks for your patienece!
