The WP-Optimize plugin is installed on one of our clients’ sites on our dedicated server, and has been slowing down the response time on the whole server, thus all of our clients’ websites. When deactivated, our server response time dropped from over 80 seconds to under half a second. Is there some way to troubleshoot why the plugin is causing this issue and fix that?

Is this issue similar to the one discussed in this thread? Link: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/site-error-after-vs-3217-update/

If yes, could you kindly try turning off the WebP feature from the WP-Optimize settings and let us know if it resolves the issue? Thank you.

Yes, similar issue, sorry I didn’t see those posts, though I did a search and didn’t see those. I turned that feature off over an hour ago and so far there’s no server or site slow down, so it’s resolved it appears. Thank you!

@integrisweb Kindly update Wp-Optimize to the latest version (v3.2.18), as it includes a fix for this issue. Thank you.

Hi, I’ve updated the plugin, do I also need to turn the WebP setting back on? Thank you!

@integrisweb Yes, you can now enable the WebP feature without any issues.

Super, thanks for all your help!

Despite having updated quite a while ago i had still a big slowdown and issues with renderblocking elements. I was searching the forum for days until i thought, damn give it a shot.

I deactivated WPOptimize and the problem was gone. It came back when i activated it. I deactiviated minify and cache and the problem persisted. But when i deactivated (today) the WP-Setting my website became fast again.

I just repeated it after having clicked Reset WebP serving method some hours ago. Webside slow and loading wrong with missing images and renderblocking.

    Deactivating the Webp solves it.

That means the issue with WebP is still persistent and began at least 1 month ago. Something is still seriously wrong with WebP.

I forgot but should have mentioned that there was no way to even expect the issues to be caused by a WebP based problem. I tried anything else during the last weeks. I just came across this thread while looking systematically for things i did not already try. So i gave it a shot.
