  • FYI, if you still use this Simple Fields plugin, WordPress 5+ added a new post/page editor called Gutenberg. That caused Simple Fields values to not update when saving a page change, while the regular WordPress post body did update. To solve that issue, you can install the Classic Editor plugin from WordPress which restores the old editor. Then it looks like the old editor again and it does actually update the Simple Fields values.

I imagine the ACF plugin ran up against this issue as well and its authors would have had to adjust to work with the new editor.

Thanks for sharing this information @hikingmike!

same issue here, site has been repeatedly hacked because of this plugin. it’s no longer updated. I recommend disabling this plugin and using an alternative, you can find the meta keys created by using the query “select * from wp_postmeta where meta_key LIKE ‘%simple%'” then copy and paste your content elsewhere, depending on how you used it, that might help.
