Very happy to see a Braintree + GF plugin emerge. I spent some time testing it with Braintree’s sandbox today, and found that it wasn’t hiding my test CC# from the form entry data after submission. I’ve used GF + Stripe and that plugin normally scrambles it. Does this sound like user error or did I encounter a bug? The sandbox transaction successfully posted to Braintree.

    Hey Harelin,

No that’s definitely a bug. Thanks for reporting it!

We’ll release an update very shortly. Cheers!

    Hi Harelin,

We just tried to replicate the issue but we were unsuccessful. Are you able to provide us with a screenshot or more details at all?

Of course, blur out your CC number if it is real.

PS: If you’re just testing on the Sandbox, you can go ahead and use one of the test CC numbers instead of your actual number.

I will have to do some more testing and get back to you. Possibly a plugin conflict or something of that nature then, I have a lot going on.

Here’s a screenshot of an entry belonging to my form that has successfully posted a transaction to Braintree’s sandbox:

The entry also doesn’t display a transaction ID number, payment status/date, etc. — I’m not sure if it’s supposed to.

This seems to be an issue with Gravity Forms itself. Gravity Forms Braintree definitely does not manually store a clear text credit card number anywhere in the database, entry or otherwise.

We will keep investigating this as well, just to be 100% sure.

Lastly, saving a transaction ID number, payment status etc against an entry will be released within 24 hours.

Ok, I was able to figure it out, and the problem was on my end. It’s as I suspected – you can’t have GF + Stripe enabled at the same time as GF + Braintree, even if the Braintree form doesn’t have a Stripe feed attached to it. It worked as soon as I disabled GF + Stripe (couldn’t do this easily before because my site is live). This complicates my transition from Stripe to Braintree but I don’t consider it a fault with your plugin. I doubt I’ll be the last to encounter this scenario though, since the unofficial GF + Stripe plugin is fairly popular.

    Thanks for the quick responses.

    Hi Harelin,

Great, thanks very much. A little bit concerning that GF + Stripe causes this issue.

As mentioned earlier, we’ll be releasing an update shortly to ensure the payment details are saved against an entry.

If you like the plugin, please consider taking a moment to rate it.

    Cheers!
