    Hi,
Installed this plugin today and can’t get signup to work. On submitting form I get a popup message with “Constant Contact username/password not accepted”.

Reading back through old forum topics I see that at one time this was an issue. I am using the only CC login that exists. I have changed the CC password to a new one. I have double checked list name and even created a new list… All of these as per the old forum post suggestions. Still can’t make submission work.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

Hi SpeedyBlogSetup! Please try changing the CC password to one without any special characters, just numbers and letters.

My password already only has lowercase letters and a number.(Both before and after changed it)

Hi SpeedBlogSetup! We can continue to try to debug this but we would need full access to your site and Constant Contact. If you would like us to continue, please email the following to [email protected]:

    URL of your WordPress site
Admin login and password to your WordPress site
Login and password to Constant Contact

Hi SpeedyBlogSetup! The issue has been resolved, the plugin was not saving the credentials properly so it kept trying to use the incorrect username that you entered before. We will also update the plugin to fix this issue.

    It’s working great now.
Thanks a bunch for your quick help.

11/23/15 – still seem to be experiencing this issue… is the plugin going to be fixed and updated soon?

Hi ocaptain! There are no known bugs with the plugin at this time. If you are having username/password errors, please make sure the following:

    1. You are using the username/password of the *primary* user (ie. the one used for signing up with Contact Contact).

    2. Triple check the username/password you entered in the plugin settings.

    3. After a certain number of attempts with an incorrect password, Constant Contact will lock the account and require verification to reactivate. So sign in to Constant Contact with the username/password and verify/reactivate the account as needed.

    4. Try changing the Constant Contact password to use only letters and numbers.

    hi!

i carefully followed all the instructions above … still telling me the plugin cant connect to constant contact.

i got the new version of wordpress 4.4
    could that be the issue?

    thanks for the help!

Hi jb! The plugin will work with WP 4.4. Are you using a test/local server? Other than that we do not have any other ideas for the issue, the plugin is just faithfully reporting the error returned from the Constant Contact API…

    Hello,

I have been trying to get the widget work on my client’s site and keep getting the error alert: Constant Contact username/password not accepted

I have considered the following as suggested above:

    1. You are using the username/password of the *primary* user (ie. the one used for signing up with Contact Contact).
**If the partner account suffices–I do believe this account was used to set up the account, but it was perhaps created by a different master account.**

This is all in good shape.

the question I have now relates to the fact that my client has a partner account that is managing the target client account.

I am passing the login info for the partner account to the plugin.
There is a username in My Client Details tab in partner account on Constant Contact.
I have to get the password for that, but before I ask my client again, I thought you might be able to tell me if that could be the issue — can this plugin connect to an email list through a partner account?

    Thanks!

Hi andy3web! The login/password needs to be the primary user – the person who signed up for the Constant Contact account. Any other users/administrators cannot be used.
