CDN adding httpS to random files & HTACCESS issue

    I’ve setup a self-hosted CDN and configured only for CSS, and I am seeing two issues:
    1) when CDN is enabled, httpS is being added for two PNG files that are part of my theme, even though no HTTPS settings are enabled and none of the theme files are on CDN; this is returning file not found errors
    2) the HTACCESS file being created/written to the /CDN directory does not contain a . in the file name.. ie; the file is HTACCESS and not .HTACCESS .. is this an issue/will it work?
