Census entries duplicated when importing Gedcom

  • Hi,

    Imported a Gedcom from Ancestry and all went fine but looking at the individual pages, in the facts panel, all the census information is duplicated.

    Imported the same Gedcom into Rootsmagic 6 and it only displays one list of census events for each person.

    Exported a Gedcom from Rootsmagic and imported to Roots Persona and the census entries were duplicated again.

    I presume this is a Gedcom format issue but what is it and can you help?

    I can send you the Gedcom file however I have no way of contacting you.

    I don’t know your email address and the contact form on your website doesn’t work.

    Hi there! I’m curious if a solution has been found to this issue. I’m trying out RootsPersona for the first time today. Just did an upload of my Gedcom and I’m having the same problem. My original data also comes from Ancestry, though I’m now working via FTM 2014 to export the Gedcom.

    Usually it is related to reuse of GEDCOM identfiers
