Hello, I see some older topics asking about centering the slides in a carousel slider (flexslider) that is 100% width (so you see the previous/next partial images and first slide is centered). It seemed to be implied it would be in a future release.

Will this be added anytime soon? I am currently replacing an older slider that is difficult to maintain and is not compatible with Gutenberg, etc. Metaslider seems to check almost all the boxes, however not being able to center the slide is a deal-breaker.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

  • Hi,

If you set MetaSlider to 100% width, then center aligning is not necessary since the slides will occupy the whole width with an image.

If you set your slider to a specific width, MetaSlider has a checkbox option to center-align your slide.

I hope I this answers your question. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Arreane,

The 100% width setting is for the entire MetaSlider frame itself, which spans the width of the viewport. Within the slider, the first slide currently starts at the left edge, and depending on that images width, you see the next slide to the right.

Instead, we need each slide to be centered in the carousel frame and for the first slide to be centered in the browser (so you would see the last/previous slide to the left, and the next slide to the right of the first slide). This is assuming the browser viewport is wider than the slider images. i.e. on mobile it will probably only show the first slide, since it is already being reduced to fit the mobile width)

Here is a closed topic for the same issue and it was implied this option would be implemented:

Just wondering if there is any hope for this in the short term.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi @jeffwpo,

I and @yanex are working on a workaround to achieve your requirements. The workaround would require some CSS and JS code to be added to your website.

We will post here again once we implement a solution.

Can you please share the page URL where your slider exists?

    Hi @mohammedeisa,

Thank you for the reply. Are you looking for an example of the OLD slider being replaced, or a page with the MetaSlider that is not centering properly in my template?

Also, is it possible to send you a URL without posting publicly on WordPress support? Not sure yet if I have permission to share a client site on a public support forum.

    Best Regards,
    Jeff

BTW, I forgot to add… just to be clear, I am not looking to get free support on the free version to solve this. I would be happy to purchase a license for the Pro version if you thought this can be worked out.

I am also completely comfortable making modifications / workarounds temporarily in the code to make this work until it is officially released.

    Best,
    Jeff
