Centerting text widget, social badges

It’s not working when I tried below 2 methods, including text widget for feedburners.

Tried this in my css child theme

.widget_text .textwidget {text-align: center;}

Also tried this direct in widget text box

<div style=”text-align:center;”> MyCode </div>

However, the latter method does work for google adsense.

Pls advice. Thank you.
