• Hello,

I’ve been attacked by very aggressive spammers so installing Cerber was a no brainer, but I now I have other problems: Cerber is sometimes blocking legitimate comments and users and I am unable to upload media on the mobile WP app. When I disable Cerber uploads work fine, but as soon as I enable it again, all uploads fail. Is there a setting I need to adjust to allow the mobile WP app to upload images/media again?

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi!

You need to reproduce the issue by using the app and check the Activity (or Live Traffic) log for blocked requests from your IP addresses. So you will see the reason why they were blocked.

If the app utilizes REST API, I recommend enabling REST API for logged in users: https://wpcerber.com/restrict-access-to-wordpress-rest-api/

If the app uploads files via a plain form and submissions get blocked with the status “Spam form submission denied”, you need to either enable “Disable bot detection engine for logged in users” or whitelist the submission path as described: https://wpcerber.com/antispam-exception-for-specific-http-request/

P.S. Give me the link to the app if it’s publicly available.

    Hi Gioni,

Thanks. Where do I find “Disable bot detection for logged in users”? I can’t find it anywhere.

The app is just the standard WordPress App you’ll find in any App Store.

Honestly, I ‘m so frustrated with spam and WordPress, I may never blog again in my life. It’s more trouble than it’s worth. I wish JetPack and hosts would do a better job providing security…

    Thanks anyway

“Disable bot detection for logged in users” is in the Antispam plugin settings.

Frankly, that app is not well designed to be used as a real business app and JetPack is being used more like a sale funnel to get beginners aboard. ˉ\_(ツ)_/ˉ

Thanks. I upgraded my PHP, hoping that will solve my security issues. So far so good. But whenever I get attacked, I have to enable Cerber and then I’ll disable bots on users. Nothing else stops them.
Yeah, I’m pretty fed up with JetPack, but unfortunately it’s the bundle I bought from my provider. And there is no other mobile App for WordPress. or is there?

    Thx
