CF7 does not send form when running on older operating systems

  • My Hire Agreement (HR) form works well on Windows 10, 11; ios 15; android 8.1 but not on earlier versions e.g. ios 12 and android pre-8. The form fills up correctly but when I click on the Send (Submit) button, absolutely nothing happens. The Send button doesn’t change at all, there is no little circle as the submission is taking place and no email is sent.

    Any ideas, anyone ?

    What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

    Thanks for answering so quickly. I’m using WordPress 6.0.2 with the Hayden theme. The Plugins are :

    Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, WordPress Importer and WP Mail SMTP, and clearing all cache data.

    Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

    Hi. I’ve been away from home for a few weeks and so have not been able to follow up your suggestion. My apologies.

    I’ve now returned and have disabled all the plugins you mention and have switched to the Twenty TwentyTwo theme. I still get the problem on all my contact forms. The situation now is: No Change. Windows 10 & 11, android 8.1 and an ios 15 phone work OK but older androids & iphones do not. Some devices do nothing at all when the Send/Submit button is touched, some do react but give an error message (a standard CF7 “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”) and don’t send an email.

    I’ve also tried different browsers, with the same result.

    Do you have further suggestions ?
