When I use mine or other email addresses as the destination for Contact Form 7, it works fine. As soon as I put my client’s email “[email protected]” in the “To” field, the email leaves the Hostgator server (site host) but does not show up on the GoDaddy email server. I’ve installed Postman SMTP plug-in to log outgoing emails, and it says that they are being delivered to the Mail Submission Agent, but GoDaddy techs tells me that they do not show up on the Office 365 log. Everyone is stymied as to why the emails aren’t reaching the email server. Any suggestions, workarounds, fixes are greatly appreciated.

Assuming Postman is configured with [email protected] as your envelope from address, then Office 365 is rejecting your email due to an SPF violation.

    cwdlaw.net. 3599 IN MX 0 cwdlaw-net.mail.protection.outlook.com.
    cwdlaw.net. 599 IN TXT "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all"

You’ve specified outlook.com as the only approved SMTP server, but since we all know Hostgator blocks the ports to outlook.com, you are obviously violating this rule. Change your SPF record to include Hostgator.

    cwdlaw.net. 599 IN TXT "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:websitewelcome.com -all"

GoDaddy techs tells me that they do not show up on the Office 365 log

It’s impossible for GoDaddy techs to confirm or deny that.

Sure they are. Maybe you should tell the idiots to read my blog ??

Thanks for posting a real domain name. You don’t know how hard it is to troubleshoot a problem for someone who’s example.com email is not working ;P

scroll down to Chemusic’s response. It’s a setting in GoDaddy that very few of their techs know about. Super easy to modify yourself if you have access to your hosting account. Good luck.

@jessicadohm, not everyone has access to cPanel (GoDaddy managed wordpress, for instance).

and @chemusic’s solution only works on SMTP servers that do not assign a spam score for bypassing authentication.

    Jason,
Thanks so much for the input. I’ve taken it up with Hostgator and GoDaddy. Will have to wait to see if the DNS changes make the difference but I will let you know if the issue is resolved.

    Jason,
I wanted to thank you again for taking the time to respond. After passing your information along to both Hostgator AND GoDaddy techs, the problem was not resolved. I suspect that the problem resides with GoDaddy. I was not able to see the changes made to the DNS settings, so I couldn’t verify what they had done.

Thought not an elegant solution, I was able to circumvent the problem by setting Contact Form 7 to send to my own Gmail account, then set a filter in my Gmail to catch all emails coming from the contact form, have it forward to my client’s email address, then automatically delete the email from my inbox.

    Thanks again

    Hi Developer of CF7!
I′m having severe issues making the Contact Form 7 mailformula work with the file “ATTACHMENT-feature” (shortcode) work properly.
I′ve decreased/increased file size, but this didn′t improve the functionality. In my local mail INBOX, no attachments were appearing in the inbox. Neither in the webmail inbox?
I′ve checked server on site if wp-content/uploads/wpcf7_uploads folder is there, which it is. And still it doesn′t work properly?
I′ve checked wp-config.php file, file maximum upload size 1024MB (should be large enough). Still doesn′t work.
I′ve setup several new Contact Forms, but they still didn′t work properly, untill I finally copy/pasted a script from a Contact Form 7 – which worked properly. Now I can send mails from site with Contact form 7, but still the CF7 doesn′t work with file “ATTACHMENT”-feature installed?
I′ve setup Contact Form 7 with multiple permitted filetypes installed, but it didn′t work with file ATTACHMENT-feature installed.
I′ve tried everything possible according to instructions on site by Contact Form 7 developer, but nothing still works.
I′ve checked the theme developers site for similar issues, who uses the CF7 as part of the “third party” mailfeature – but couldn′t find any that suited my needs for solving the issues….so…
I′ll submit this ticket to your developers support forum and hope that someone may take care of this issue, which I never have experienced before – using the CF7 mailformula in previous versions?
    WordPress version: 4.3.1
    Best regards_Psychomachia
