Cf7 error: The date format is incorrect

The date time picker appears in my Contact Form 7 form, but when I try to submit there’s an error “The date format is incorrect.”
In my console I see the message “The specified value “2020-09-01 10:30 PM” does not conform to the required format, “yyyy-MM-dd”.”
The class .wpcf7-validates-as-date is being added to my input.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi @megseoh change the input type to text instead of date, this way the plugin will do its own validation, not cf7.
