CF7 Issue with Recaptcha v3

  • Hello,

    Last week, our website forms started showing the error message “The message could not be sent. Please try again later.” To resolve this, we replaced the reCAPTCHA v3 key, and everything started working again. However, the same issue resurfaced yesterday. After updating the key once more, the problem was fixed.

    WordPress Version => 6.6.2
    CF7 => 5.9.8 

    Does anyone know the root cause of this issue and how we can fix it permanently?

    Also, I did some research and our website reached Monthly limit of Recaptcha V3, Is there any way to avoid spam traffic? Currently created new and added it so working fine

    @takayukister I have created separate HTML form and on submit printing response received from rechapcha => https://www.image.ie/test.php

    Also found this document => https://cloud.google.com/recaptcha/quotas

    CF7 will trigger rechapcha api for all pages ? or just on submission process?

    Forget about quota. It has nothing to do with your case.

    What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

    It’s definitely related to quota as I am adding fresh new recapcha to the site issue is resolved but with old all entry counted as spam.

    Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, Akismet Anti-spam, Classic Editor, Flamingo, Wordfence Security, WordPress Importer and Yoast SEO, and clearing all cache data.

    Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.
