• I got CG-Feedread working well and I understand the code for it. However, for some reason, if the title of the post contains an apostrophe then CG-Feedread outputs some gunk. Example (seen here: example:

The last two titles are supposed to say “It’s Coming!” and “It’s DONE”.

    What’s the deal?

  • The last-released version did have some issues with character encodings — though usually UTF8 worked fine.

BUT, in this case, the problem seems to stem from the fact it isn’t a straight single-quote ‘ in the titles, but a curvy quote (which isn’t an ascii code, and hasn’t been converted to htmlentity equiv). Looks like my processing of the title might be making some bad assumptions and need to do more ‘safe’ conversion paths — I likely assumed that aside from CDATA blocks the rest should be entity-converted already.

I’ll try to look into it further in the next week, as I get done with my CHAITGEAR 2.0 re-launch… ?? ping me if you haven’t heard back!
