I am using Divi from Elegant Themes along with The Events Calendar and I was really exited to see that Divi gives me the options to change the colour schemes of the events and the calendar. BUT …

for some reason I cannot change everything. For example I can opt for a different colour scheme for the calendar display whichis great except that it doesn’t replace the existing colours but instead puts the new colour on top of the old one. The result being that the header row is now unreadable.

For some reason this now also means that when I try to revert to the original set up, the header row is still unreadable as the background is a very dark grey with a slightly darker grey font.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Any guidance notes for doing this somewhere?

    Hi @artylady,

Sorry to hear you’ve experienced difficulties.

For example I can opt for a different colour scheme for the calendar display whichis great except that it doesn’t replace the existing colours but instead puts the new colour on top of the old one.

That sounds rather odd. Could you link to a screenshot or live example that illustrates the problem?

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I’m unfamiliar with Divi, but ultimately it may be that you need to use custom CSS rules should the customizer options alone turn out to be insufficient:

    Thank you @barryhughes-1

Live example of this can be seen here > https://79.170.40.175/catkabira.com/events/month/

If you watch as the page loads, you will see that it loads as grey first and then the turquoise appears. The top row is unreadable and it doesn’t matter how I change the options, the only way that it does become readable is if I remove any of my colour choices.

I was excited at first because Divi, unlike some other themes offers me the options to change the colour schemes. It might be that they are missing something in the design but I can’t tell that from what I see. I can either set you up log in details so you can see how it works if you are interested or I can do screenshots of the different options it gives me. Divi is getting immensely popular by a lot of WordPress users.

I am not familiar with custom CSS (I avoid any specialist programming if I can) so would need guidance on how to do this.

    Thanks again

The same thing is happening here except that I removed the Orange from the calendar only to find that the top row is still unreadable being dark grey on dark grey.
