Championship Mode Issue – Not Able to Add Matches

The main league that I built was a tennis league. It is one year (2014) and the mode is Championship. It has 3 groups (South, North and East) and I set teams to advance to ‘2’…so I do see that it has the bracket set up as I want – with the Quarterfinals, then semis and then finals (as well as third place which shows up).
I have plenty of match data inserted into all 3 groups – a total of 45 matches – and I have set the number of match days to ‘1’ when creating the season – so all of my matches occur on Match Day 1 (this was done just so I didn’t have to keep going to the drop down menu). The sport and point rule are ‘Tennis’ under Preferences. I did read that it may not work with other sports besides Soccer, but I also did a test with Soccer and it still wasn’t working!

And when I click on the Add Matches (dropdown) and then Quarter finals and click ‘Go’ – this is what I see: https://snag.gy/OYstw.jpg – there’s no option to select any of the teams/individuals I’ve created.
And when I try to just insert a score, it gives me the message:
“It seems the previous round is not over yet.”What’s going on with this? not sure why i’m having so much difficulty figuring this out. I feel like I’m close….
