Change 1000s of blog posts from protected to unprotected

This can be done in phpMyAdmin or your host provided MySQL DB tool with an SQL query.

If you do not create a full db backup prior to attempting this, and cannot restore it, you risk breaking your site. The full db backup should be done and tested by importing it to another db, setting your site to use that and testing that the db backup was properly made.

Note the query in the ref. link will remove the post password from all posts, and the wp_ in the wp_posts table assumes wp_ is the prefix used in your db already (from wp-config):

$table_prefix = 'wp_';

wp_ is the default.

so if your $table_prefix = 'this_'; use this_posts.
