• Hi,
I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’m starting a blog and am posting under the name “The Turtle,” however when someone clicks on the author of the blog post’s name it takes them to a short link page with my email address in it.

To better understand what I’m talking about, please visit https://www.tutorialturtle.com and click on “The Turtle” above the first post. You will see that it takes you to a page with my yahoo email address in the URL.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

  • My guess is that you used your email address as your site username – never a good idea. You will need to change that by creating a new admin login. Then logged in as the new user, transfer all of the existing Posts over to the new user. Finally, delete the old admin user.

Thank you for your quick reply!

I’m a bit of a newbie, and didn’t think everything through when setting it up. I tried going through and adding a new user from the side panel, but it’s not a new admin login. Could you please point me in the right direction to set up a new admin user?

Nevermind, I didn’t see the tab at the bottom of the new user page where you can select subscriber, administrator, editor, etc.

    Thanks again for your help!

Navigate to the new user’s profile and use the dropdown to select Administrator.
