  • Go to SEO> Advance Tools > Breadcrumbs tab. Scroll to the section called How to insert breadcrumbs in your theme and make sure to select Category. Once you selected that option, click the button to save changes.

Thanks for the response. But, unfortunately it does not address my issue. The issue is that I am unable to get my blog listed in the breadcrumbs. The option to add it is unavailable, even though I am using a static front page.

The issue is a bug and not an issue related to a configuration setting.

    Thanks though.

You said you have a static front page but did you, also, set a static blog page? Currently, in order to have ‘Blog’ automatically added to the breadcrumb trail, you must select a static blog page under Admin > Settings > General.

However, a feature request is currently open for this issue. If you would like to follow the progress of the request, you can do that here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/7604

Alternatively, you or your developer can use the wpseo_breadcrumb_links filter to customize this feature. An example of how to use this filter is here: https://gist.github.com/amboutwe/ea0791e184668a5c7bd7bbe357c598e9

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the way the theme is setup the “Post page” drop down, in “Settings >> Reading, is disabled. The blog page itself is actually chosen by setting a page’s template to the “Blog” template.

I’ll look at the link you provided and see what I can do.

    Thank you.

If the blog page is set from the theme custom page template and not from the WordPress blog settings, you may need to use custom code to modify the breadcrumb. However, we’ve sent your feedback to our development team so this feature may introduce in future.
