Add the following code under Customizer -> Additional CSS

.recaptcha-checkbox-border { 
    background-color: #444;
}

Unfortunately, that did not work when I added that to additional CSS in the customizer.

I just double checked to make sure I added it properly. Still no luck. Any other ideas?

The Recaptcha is loaded using an iframe which prevents the CSS from working.

So, we can’t customize the layout of the Recaptcha .. the only option available is to load the dark theme of Recaptcha and even, in that case, the checkbox input is white.
