Hello. When I change category colour, it only changes the title of blog posts. How can I make it so that it changes the colour of tabs in the primary menu?

I would like it to be very much like the example mesocolumn website you show.

you need to have custom menu in ‘primary’ location for the category color for item nav to work.

I have created a custom menu and located it as a primary menu. And then i added my categories to the custom menu. I am getting the colours to my categories but they are displaying as: a long color line below each category one below the other, not side by side. Also, one of the categories showing posts of another category. Now I deleted the custom menu.
    Please suggest.

    Hi Acsekhar,

It seems like you’ve accidentally made a few submenu items. Make sure each category is not a submenu item in appearance > menus.

Also, make sure no categories have a parent category in posts > categories to solve your second problem.

i have added my categories to my custom menu. Will my categories become sub-menus? Please give me the ste by step procedure to get colors to my categories as shown in a theme. Thank you.

Can you send me a link to your website?

I got it. Actually, the categories are showing the whole description and because of this, it is showing a long line till the description ends. Now, i deleted the description and now its fine.

But, how can I add description and not want to show?

use custom menu and delete description from each menu item.
