change /category/ prefix to something else

    I’ve been trying to figure out the codex and plugins on how to change this but I don’t understand it. I want to change the /category/ in the permalink to something else.

    I’ve tried all sorts of things mainly with:

    set_category_base($category_base)
    category_rewrite_rules

    without result. Any help appreciated.

  • In your admin panel > Options > Permalinks: at the bottom there is a field “category base”. Type there whatever you want and it will replace the word “category”. If you leave it blank – it will always be “category”.
