    Hello
I use strong testimonials for my website which has different languages. Unfortunately I can not adjust the company name in those languages. If I adjust the field, I have the change in all languages.
    How can I change that?

    Many thanks
    Janine

    Hi Janine,

Which translation plugin are you using?

    Dear Chris,

    I am using Polylang.

    Thanks for your help

Unfortunately, Strong Testimonials does not integrate with that specific feature in Polylang yet. I will add it to the request list.

    Dear Chris

Thanks for your quick reply. Does that means I can not adjust any field in the languages? Is there any work around? Or do I have to hope that it will work one day?

    Best wishes
    Janine

    Dear Chris

I actually use the plugin only to display my testimonials not to collect input of anyone. But if I use the field company as well as name it gets shown at the right position. Can I do this differently?

    Thanks

    1. If I knew of a workaround, I would have told you. ?? When using Polylang, Strong Testimonials only uses custom fields in the site’s primary language. I will fix this weakness but I am not certain when.

    2. Minor changes can usually be done with some custom CSS. Which view template are you using?

    1. Maybe it would work if I insert a new testimonial instead of translating it… I will give it a try.

    2. I am using the Allegiant theme

But I have another problem, eventhough I have changed the order of the testimonilas with drag and drop it does not appear in the order I wished to see. ?? What have I done wrong?

    2. I’m referring to the Template setting in the Style section in the testimonial View editor. For the default template, add this custom CSS to the “Additional CSS” section in the Customizer:

    .strong-view.default .testimonial-client { text-align: left; }

    3. In the Query section of the testimonial view editor, set Order to “menu order”.

    2. Thanks for the CSS code. I did enter it, but what exactly should that change now? Or what else do I have to change?

    3. I found that in the meantime, and it does work in my first language but in the second there is only one testimonial shown ??

Sorry number 3 is fine now. Thanks a lot, it did not loaded correctly on my side.

To clarify, you said “But if I use the field company as well as name it gets shown at the right position. Can I do this differently?” Did that custom CSS do what you need? Or did I misunderstand?

Sorry, maybe I was not so clear enough.

    1. No it did not change anything this code.
    2. Both fields “company” as well as “name” are at the right position in my layout. But unfortunately I can not change the language for this fields. Therefore I hoped there is a option to use other fields or other … to place my content right at this position so that I can change the language. But probably not.

I assume I have to make different testimonials for the language instead of translating them. Like that it works it is not proper but it does work. ??

    I’m sorry, I still don’t understand.

If you want to translate the name and company, then you need to create different testimonials instead of simply translating the content. Then create a category for each language, assign testimonials to their language category, and create separate views for each language category.
