Change Default Form or Include Specified Form via Template/after_switch_theme Hook

Is there a way to include a ‘default’ form via a theme template, or to hook the existing defaults and change them to suit my needs?

I see the note here in the FAQ about adding the run code in the template files, but without the form already present… it just doesn’t seem like it would do what I’m looking for, because then users would have to create new forms in the correct order?

Or, do forms retain their original number upon being restored from a backup?

I couldn’t find anything in the FAQ or site, and please feel free to tell me if this is beyond the scope of the plugin.

    Thanks,

    Carly

  • Hi Carly, there is one default form created when you install the plugin. This form is referred to as form 1 and the shortcode is [si-contact-form form=’1′]. This form cannot be deleted, however you can add as many extra fields to the form as you want. The default fields created when the form was created cannot be deleted only the new added fields can be deleted.

You can then create as many forms as you like. All the added new forms can be deleted but you cannot delete the default fields added when you create a new form only the added extra fields.

Does the above information help you?

Yes, is there a way to programatically add new fields to the default form?

Can you explain what you mean by programmatically?

From within my functions.php file, using a hook, add_action, or similar function?

Thank you for clarifying the question further. The plugin developer will reply back to you.

    Kind regards

Yes they do when you restore all forms. But if you restore a single frm you get to select the form number to replace it with. maybe this is the best way for you to programmatically make forms.

There are no action hooks to make forms, sorry.
