Hi,

I use polylang since a long time, and recently i notice that i have less and less option with those new updates.

For example the fact that i cant change default language. i understand that you have a pro version, but why dont you add extra value to that version (for example a real support of woocommerce) instead of cutting features off the free one ? It’s not really supporting devs and users that promote your plugin since long time.

Is there a way to change the default language still ? Because i search for the dropdown menu, and he is gone gone.

Hi

You can change the default language like this: https://polylang.pro/doc/configure-the-languages/#default-language

It is explained just there: https://polylang.pro/polylang-pro-is-coming-out/ that Polylang will remain available in the www.ads-software.com repository keeping all features it already has.

In more Polylang 2.0 comes with new features such as the possibility to use the language switcher as dropdown in menu. See: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/the-development-version-of-polylang-20-is-available-for-tests?replies=2

Hi Chrystl,

I mus confess that this new method is really not intuitive and practicly invisible if you dont know it is here, but i’m really glad it is still here ??

Looks like i should have search for the documentation.

i still look forward to a version of polylang that work fully with woocommerce, WPML is getting better and better at each version (surely because of competition and experience)… So watch out ??

There is an extension ‘Polylang for WooCommerce ‘ which allows to use Polylang and WooCommerce together, see: https://polylang.pro/polylang-for-woocommerce/

Now polylang is most efficent, if you have some pages without default language set, it ask you if you want to do it, and does it automatically, VERY COMFORTABLE !!!
