Change default select value

    Hey there,

    I’ve added the widget via your provided shortcode to a page. I use the drop down and yearly listing, and it all works great. Only thing that bothers me: It will only display “–” as default select value – however I’d like it to say something like “Select year”. How can I achieve this? Is there some kind of code I can add to the shortcode?

    I solved it – used the wp_get_archives function for it. The page even includes an example for drop downs.

    Update: Version 1.4.1 now includes a feature that allows the user to change the initial text that is selected in the drop-down.
