• How do I change the display name of my themes? The issue is that I added a plugin that allows visitors to select the theme in which they want to view my site, but I want them to show up in the drop-down list as “cleaner” names that I assign them.

  • Hey!
    You can change the stylesheet in every theme you create to set it’s name as you want.

    The first few lines of the stylesheet looks like:

    /*
    Theme Name: Rose
    Theme URI: the-theme's-homepage
    Description: a-brief-description
    Author: your-name
    Author URI: your-URI
    Template: use-this-to-define-a-parent-theme--optional
    Version: a-number--optional
    .
    General comments/License Statement if any.
    .
    */

    There you can change the name to show in the drop-down list.

    I wish! I actually had already tried that, but unfortunately once I change that name (“Rose”, in your example) to anything else, my blog stops recognizing the theme at all, and I just get a white screen when I go to it. Any way to prevent this, or any other way to change the display name?

    I did it and it works, but anyway, maybe you can try to uninstall the theme before you change the name an reinstall it after that.
