Change domain in Multisite

  • Hi,

    I want to change the domain name of one my sites in my Multisite setup (not the primary domain).

    1. How do I go about doing this?
    2. And is there a plugin anyone can recommend for 301 redirection and other considerations for SEO?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply. I’ve already setup WordPress Multisite. I believe the step by step instructions for changing a domain name using MultiSite is a lot easier than WordPress stand alone. My understanding is that the following process is needed (please confirm).

    1. Add the new domain to cpanel
    2. Go to wp-admin -> network -> Settings -> Domain
    3. find the domain you want to change
    4. Click Edit
    5. Put in the new domain

    6. And then use a redirection plugin like the one you suggested. I’m assuming you can use this plugin even after you’ve changed the domain, as it’s just changing .htaccess?

    Is that the correct procedure?
