Change field prompts

It is possible to change it but it is unwise as every time I update the plugin you will lose your customisation.

What would be a better word than street? Perhaps I can change it for everyone. Perhaps address or street address?

Thanks for your very prompt response. For me, “Address” would be best, and this would make perfect sense with the fields “City” and “Postcode” below. But I do realise that what works best for one country may not work so well for another, as address formats and the words used to describe addresses seems to vary a lot.

Given this variation, would it not make sense for the field prompts to be placed in some sort of configuration file so that users can customise them to suit their own local preferences?

Another option for me would be to add a separate field for the house number or name and have this placed above the “Street” field. But the options for placing custom fields are limited, and would not allow for this.

I actually agree with you about “Address” V “Street” and will change it in the next version.

However the idea of more flexible custom fields is too much work for what only 1 person wants (so far).

That’s brilliant – thank you so much. Your petition plugin is really helping us – we are fighting plans to build 45 houses on what is currently lovely woodland and fields.

+1 to the idea of more flexible custom fields. I find this feature is lacking with most submission form plugins.

I realize adding user customization options is time-consuming for the developer, but it’s something I would pay for in a Pro version of these submission form/petition/campaign-type plugins.
