• I’ve just started to put together a web site using wordpress
I’ve noticed that my page title on my home page is smaller than my page title on other pages

I would like my font size on all pages to be the same size as the home page – how do I achieve this? I’ve gone through all the php files changing h1 and h2 to h2 and h3 but with no effect.

Help for a new user will be much appreciated …

  • Font size is set by the CSS code — changing the PHP files won’t necessarily change the sizes. Firebug is a great tool to see what CSS code is determining the appearance of elements on the page. What theme are you using? Make sure you are using a child theme if you are making any changes (you already did) to the core files.

    many thanks for this.

I’ll look into firebug tomorrow. Is the lite version good enough or do I need to use the firefox browser?

Yes, I am using a child theme

Never heard of the “lite” version — I’d definitely use FF. What browser are you using?

    meant IE

Chrome evidently has developer tools similar to Firefox (firebug) — but I’ve not used it. Firefox is great in my experience…so I’m partial to it — and Firebug is really easy to use and very useful. Download them and see what you think.

IE is good to check sites there — only because it’s still so widely used, but don’t use for developing websites as it has various quirks/problems.

If you want specific help on the font sizes on your site, post a link to it and someone can assist you.
