Change Google Maps API

Hey there,

Can you send me a link to your site so I can replicate this? We have an open issue out about Google Maps currently so I can add it to that or open up a new one:

Try https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=hammerbrookstra%C3%9Fe+47+hamburg&sensor=false&region&key=AIzaSyBq5_7DvE3BqXITXUqWOBWpZNBrk8gSLdo&language=de_DE

and try https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=hammerbrookstra%C3%9Fe+47+hamburg&sensor=false&region&key=AIzaSyBq5_7DvE3BqXITXUqWOBWpZNBrk8gSLdo&language=de_DE

First one gives the result, last one this:

   "status" : "REQUEST_DENIED"
}

As I said: Just change the URL to ask to the HTTPS one. This will fix it.

not //maps… but https:// to ensure that it’s working on http sites as well.

For the archives: To re-enable Geocoding in the meantime use the following in your themes functions.php

add_filter( 'job_manager_geolocation_endpoint', 'make_google_maps_work_again' );
function make_google_maps_work_again( $endpoint ) {

    // if https:// is prefixed, change to HTTPS due to google api changes
    $new_endpoint = str_ireplace('http:', 'https:', $new_endpoint);

	return $new_endpoint;
}

Thanks, it has been added to the next milestone, so it should be fixed in the next update.

I can confirm that this issue has been fixed with the version 1.26.0 of WP Job Manager.
