You do not need to know coding to add a header image using this theme. In the admin dashboard, go to Appearance>Header

Sorry, I don’t think I was clear. I’ve added an image, but I want it at the top of the page (above the tagline and menu). I also want to remove the website name, but keep the tagline.

Before you do anything in php files, you need to create a child theme:

That way your changes won’t be lost when WP is updated. It’s also important that you have an unchanged copy of the default theme for troubleshooting.
