change Homepage element order

Hi,
As per the theme, the homepage element like FEATURED PRODUCT,etc are in certain order. I want to alter this, For eg. I want Recent Products in First, FEATURED PRODUCTS SECON. can i do it in child theme to avoid overide while theme updates, and how to do that?
