Hi – IProperty comes with an example.po language file which can be used to translate text strings used throughout the plugin. You can copy this .po file for a single custom language file (i.e for commercial listings) or for multiple languages.

For example, if you want to create a custom ‘commercial’ language file, you would copy the ‘plugins/iproperty/languages/example.po‘ and save as ‘plugins/iproperty/languages/iproperty-en_US.po‘ (assuming en_US locale), then use a translation tool of your choice to make your modifications to the text fields. Save the file with your custom text as ‘plugins/languages/iproperty-en_US.mo‘ and you’re done!

You can find the WP documentation and links to translation tools here. Hope it helps!

Hi – did this help? Please let us know so we can mark as resolved. Thanks.

    Hi,

i tried to create a german language file, but I did not succeed.
I opened the example file “example.po” with POedit, which is recommended by WordPress. I added some translations, and saved the .mo file as “plugins/iproperty/languages/iproperty-de_DE.mo”.
But the text in wordpress stays the same ..

I also tried to save the same file in “/languages/” or /plugins/iproperty/languages/” but this did not help.

Sorry to seem “needy” but I “need” more assistance. Is there someone who can assist with this as a special project or who can provide a tutorial?

Ok – I have followed all instructions but fields in meta do not change. Is there a checkbox somewhere where I tell it to go look at the new language file?
