Change Jetpack Carousel URL slug

    Hello everybody,
    by default Jetpack sets #jp-carousel-[imageid] at the end of the URL in order to refer to an image, so that this link opens lightbox/jetpack carousel when entering directly in your browser. Now, is there a way to change this text for example to “#image” instead of”jp-carousel”?

    Hi,

    That would require recoding parts of Carousel. Why do you need to do this?

    Hello Richard,
    it would be more an optical improvement. I think if that would be “image” or a custom text e.g. in another language, visitors would understand the function of this url ID much better and see that one can link directly to images that will open in Lightbox/Carousel. “#jp-carousel-1234” – no one will understand what this stands for, but “#image-1234” would be much more semantic right?

    Would be great if one could change that default text into some custom one.

    Hi DonTimo have you seen the developer feedback on Github about this request? I think because of the issues raised, we won’t go forward with fixing this. Your thoughts before I close it as a wontfix ?

    Thank you for asking for my thoughts on this topic, Richard!

    If it is that complicated to code and difficulty to realize, also without a prefix like “jp”, then leave it. It was just a thought on how to make the URL more user-friendly.
