Hi! First of all I would like to thank you for making this pluggin, definitely makes our lifes easier.

Currently I am designing a webpage for a website in spanish, and have never done a plugin translation before. From the FAQ I know that the plugin comes with .po and .mo files for up to 7 languages (Including spanish), however, I have no clue what to do with those files. Where should I put them to make my plugin work in spanish? (I can see them in the lang folder from my FTP manager, just no clue what to do from here)

I have already made my catalog with the plugin in english, so in case I need to uninstall and then re-install the plugin in order for the translation to work is there a way for me to not lose my work?

Thanks in advance for the guidance regarding this issue!

  • Hi Mandos,

Have you set your WordPress site to Spanish?

If you go to “Settings” (in the WordPress left side menu) -> “General” then scroll down to “Site Language” you should be able to choose “Espa?ol” off the languages list.

Everything was translated perfectly. The only thing was the search bar, which is still in english. Is there a way to translate this and the “updating results” bit?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi mandos,

The Spanish translation file that is included with the plugin was provided to us by a user of the plugin, so we cannot guarantee that it’s accurate or complete. If those two things aren’t translated, it probably means they just weren’t translated when the person who did the translation created the file.

If you’re using the premium version, you’ll find that you can change the wording for both of those in the “Labelling” area of the “Options” tab. If you aren’t using the premium version, then you could update the translation file (using a program like Poedit).
