Change link for authors page?

    the Post by____ link on my page is wrong….

    when you click it it tries taking you to /author/The%20Urban%20Sniper/
    the page is located at /?author=1

    i do have my permalink set up to be just the post name so where it is trying to take me is right; but it does not work… how do i fix it?
