Change link in custom, primary menu
-
Hi,
A few years ago someone created my site https://www.blackboxnynj.com with a primary, custom nav menu across the top – Home, Calendar, Photos, etc. It’s a child theme from the parent of Twenty-Eleven. How do I change the link for Home?
There’s a language barrier between the developer and I so I’m asking here (otherwise, he did great work). In Edit Menus, I see the menu in question, “Site – not for sidebar.” The last time I tried to make a change to it, I removed Home from the Menu Structure and re-added Home from the list of pages, but that screwed up the whole nav-row-menu on the site because the menu-item numbers didn’t match…or something like that, that’s where I get lost. The developer helped that time, but the Home link was left pointing to /home-2/ instead of the actual homepage. I played around now and at least got rid of the wrong link of /home-2/, but can’t figure out how to add the proper link. I’d also like to change the link for Register.
I used FF’s Inspect Element and see everything about the Home graphic and the other graphics and links in that top nav row- item numbers and URLs- but can’t find those specific menu-item numbers or links anywhere in the files (I used Crimson Editor to search all the files that were FTP-downloaded from the server). Home is menu-item 1800. I’ve spent an hour trying to figure this out on my own, including reading other posts here.
Help!
