Download & install a Custom CSS Manager plugin. Then use the area of the dashboard allocated by that plugin to hold your CSS modifications.

I want to change it without plugins, just to change into css file. Div name is main-container. How to edit the CSS code related to his (main-container) background?

If you make changes to theme files, they will be erased when the theme is updated — we generally don’t advise that at all.

Are you using a child theme?

I just want into frontpage.php edit part for the main-container and add him another color. Do u know how to do that? I will not update theme after that.

Sorry, I (and I suspect other volunteers) are not comfortable in giving advice in relation to your intent to modify the theme’s files.

I find free theme on the internet and download it and now i want to change all background on this site. Like in html page where u type body background color: black and thats it. How u do in wordpress for main_container

I’m sorry but it is beyond the scope of these forums to deal with general CSS issues. Try a dedicated CSS resource such as https://www.css-discuss.org/ instead. In the meantime, using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

    Absolutely :)!

@onlinko – you’ll create a big mess for yourself if you do that ?? .

U never edit background for all pages in wordpress css file?

Not in the parent theme – no. Unless this is a completely custom theme.
