My website font is different for desktop versus mobile. I’ve enable Google fonts, I believe the font I’m trying to use (Comic Sans MS, cursive) is mobile friendly I believe, so I’m not sure why this curly, cursive-ish font is showing up on the mobile version of my site. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I’m using the Neve theme in wordpress. Thanks in advance

  • Hi @firstfestivefooties,

    Thank you for using Neve.

It is possible to set a different font family for the menu on Desktop vs Mobile, by using different menu components in the header builder across devices. Here is a video on how to achieve this with colors. The same approach can be used for the fonts also.

    I hope this will help.

    Regards,
    Stefan

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, there isn’t an option to toggle between desktop and mobile for the font itself. When I go to the typography page, I can change the font size, line height and letter spacing for desktop versus mobile, but there isn’t an option to differ the actual font between devices.

    Hi @firstfestivefooties,

Sorry about the confusion, the video explains how to achieve this with a 2nd primary menu component but it’s available with the Neve PRO theme.

In case you need this feature you can choose one of the PRO packages and then follow the steps provided in the video to configure it.

@bvytis so am I understanding correctly, that with the Neve free version, I have no control over the mobile font?

    Hi @firstfestivefooties,

Changing the font family on mobile works like this:
    -desktop(https://vertis.d.pr/i/047aur)
    -mobile(https://vertis.d.pr/i/JaLVCI)

    I hope this will help.

Thanks @stefancotitosu but I’m not following… When I click on the mobile view, and then look at the typography, it is the same font as the desktop version. I’m using the primary menu for both the desktop and mobile versions. Should I be creating a separate menu for mobile? How does changing the menu font change the mobile font for the website?

    Hi @firstfestivefooties,

Yes, this is my suggestion. You can use a second menu component for mobile devices to be able to change the font family on mobile. You don’t have to create/assign a different menu to the header menu component. The same menu within Dashboard -> Appearance -> Menus can be used on Desktop and Mobile, just the Customizer components have to be different.

    Regards,
    Stefan
