• Cannot for the life of me find where I can change the name of my blog in the browser tab. I need to explained – barney style.

Website: https://www.incredibledash.com — currently shows “Raising Monkey, Loving Sarge” in the tab. It should show “Living Our Incredible Dash”.

I have a Genesis custom child theme – Pretty Simple Themes.

I’m not sure how to post screen shots to this forum, however I have tried the following:

    1) to edit the name on the Dashboard as Admin under General —> Settings —> Site Title and Tag Line which both read “Living Our Incredible Dash”

    2) Appearance —> Editor this takes me to the stylesheet.css and on the right side panel I have options for:
    Sales Page Template
    (Page_Sales.php)
    archive-portfolio.php
    archive-testimonials.php
    customnavone.php
    Theme Functions
    (functions.php)
    single-portfolio.php
    single-testimonials.php
    Styles

If I click over and select theme to edit and go to Genesis I find the header.php appears in that right side panel BUT it says specifically not to edit that file… and nowhere in there does it say the “raising monkey loving sarge” as I have been searching for that in every file to lead me to where I would need to change it.

I can log into my host (hostgator) and explore the files there but still come up with a dead end. If you can help, please tell me specifically where to click to bring up whatever it is I need to change! Thank you so much!

  • I presume you have assigned a page as your home page under settings > reading?

If you navigate to Pages and then the page you have set as your home page, what is the title of this page?

It looks like it’s being pulled from there.

Alternatively you could install an SEO plugin which will let you manually re-write the page titles.

Hii as par saying @creatrix U can find back end or seo plugin option setting.

IF u have check on time direct on header.php and that place have add just text format please remove this text. after backup header.php.

Under settings –> reading I have chosen for the front page displays to be “latest blog posts” so there is no other option there for naming or a title.

Under pages, there is nothing listed as home page… it just has my various tab pages like “about, our house on wheels” etc.

Looks like I need to find an seo plug in of some kind to do this for me then…

@ravi Patel I cannot locate the header.php anywhere
