Change new post notification subject line

  • Is there a way to modify the subject lines for new post email notifications so they use a post’s exceprt and not just randomly grab the first few lines of the post itself?

    I know the body of the email can use the exceprt (which is what I’m doing) but there appears to be no way to modify the subject line to do the same — which is really, really annoying, not to mention a confusing end user experience.

    The subject line cannot be edited, and is built like so:

    [New Post] Post Title

    Could you check if the post titles are correctly set up on your site? If you use Post Formats, post titles are created for you and indeed grab the first few lines of the post, wich might explain why you’re running into issues.
